2. Field-based experience of at least eight years in different states of India in the application of social development skills to evaluate and address land acquisition and resettlement issues in the context of development projects, including preparing social assessments, and conducting stakeholder analysis and consultations as inputs to project preparation, implementation and supervision.
3. Demonstrated experience with application of the World Bank's social safeguard policies and procedures (OP 4.12 and OP 4.10).
4. Specialized knowledge of social safeguards in transport, infrastructure, urban, water resource management, and rural development projects would be an asset.
5. Demonstrated ability to independently manage assigned tasks with high quality.
6. Demonstrated capacity to develop work plans and budgets, and to work with teams to ensure timely delivery of quality products;
7. Strong written and verbal communication in English and Hindi, strong inter-personal and diplomatic skills, and a solid level of office information technology skills.
8. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and in inter-disciplinary teams.
9. Track record of dealing effectively with external and internal clients.
10. Willingness to travel frequently in India and in the South Asia region.
