Shortcut Methods for Maths in Bank PO Exam - Square of Numbers Ending in 5

You can use this shortcut method to square any two digit number ending in 5 in a single line without using the conventional method where you have to first multiply in two lines and then add in the third line.

In the above examples note that the answer always ends in 25 and the rest of the numbers are the product of the digit at tens place of the original number and its consecutive number.

Example:- 85 x 85

In the above example simply multiply 8 by it consecutive number 9  to get 72 and insert 25 at the end of the resultant number 7225 [8x9  25 = 7225]

Your answer is 7225.
